Can Vape Smoke Cause Cancer?

Recently, in an effort to help people quit smoking cigarettes, a company in San Francisco made a commercial for a new product called Vapestake Vaporizer. The ad claims that vaporizing vapour will create the same satisfaction as smoking a cigarette. But what about secondhand exposure to secondhand e cigarette smoke? Are the claims true or just a commercial designed to generate consumer interest?

When most people smoke cigarettes, a host of different chemicals are being emitted into the air. But does vaporizing e cigarettes have the same affect as those who aren’t around smoke but are exposed to vapour from them? A paper published by American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association published research on this issue. The researchers studied four groups of people, all of whom were smokers. One group was exposed to an electronic cigarette while two other groups were not.

The results of the study showed that one of the groups who were exposed to vapour from Vaping didn’t gain any less cancer or other illnesses from smoking compared to the others. Another set of subjects, however, were exposed to the vapour and smoke from Vaping and they reported significantly less cancers and health problems. This is probably because the electronic cigarettes reduced or nullified the harmful by-products of smoke. These by-products are carbon monoxide, tar, ammonia, sulphur dioxide and others. The vapour was said to produce only a fraction of these toxins, making vaporizing a safe alternative to smoking. In fact, Vaping may be more pure than conventional cigarettes.

But although vapor doesn’t contain any harmful substances, researchers noted that everyone should still be careful because the new compounds vaporizing carry with them could cause health problems of their own. One of the contaminants they found in the saliva samples taken from subjects was salicylate, which is known to have serious side effects when inhaled, such as halitosis. This compound is one of the most common irritants to people who use vaporizers.

The latest research doesn’t necessarily mean you should totally abandon your electronic cigarette. People can get curious and begin to question the safety of vapour. For example, what happens if you don’t properly maintain your electronic cigarette? Are you still covered if the vapour somehow gets stuck in the coil or filter? What happens if you turn your electronic cigarette off and on again in an attempt to re-ignite your vapour?

Researchers have speculated that the answer lies in the human psychology of smoking. Most smokers will not question the difference between smoke and vapor, especially when it comes to their own health. They know the harmful by-products of smoking but would not think twice about putting something into their mouth that will get them hooked and cause them to suffer. If you don’t want to become one of those people, then you need to be extra careful when you are using your vaporizer.

However, this does not mean that you should completely write it off if you are a non-smoker. You should keep in mind that some vapers have been known to experience cravings for their favourite tobacco products while using their vaporizers. It is definitely worth testing the juice and see whether you experience any cravings associated with your chosen tobacco product when using your vaporizer.

If you’re concerned about the chemicals in e-Cigarette liquids, you might want to skip on that idea and stick with a conventional nicotine-based product. These cigarettes do not contain any chemicals at all, so it would be unfeasible to assume that they will contain any harmful chemicals. However, the e-Cigarette companies are banking on this fear and are releasing a range of non-nicotine e-Cigarettes. The problem lies in trying to make these non-nicotine products identical to the regular nicotine-based products so that no one can be really sure whether they are safe or not.
